Danny & The Champions of the World are a London‑based heartland rock, soul and Americana band led by singer‑songwriter Danny George Wilson, active since 2007. They blend folk, blues, country and rock influences into richly melodic songs. Their 2015 album What Kind of Love was widely acclaimed, winning UK Album of the Year at the inaugural UK Americana Awards and also securing UK Artist of the Year and UK Song of the Year for “Clear Water” — a major plaudit in the British roots scene. Critics praised its joyful, soulful sound and expansive arrangements. 

Their latest album is You Are Not a Stranger Here, released in October  2024, marking their seventh studio record. It features reflective songwriting and textured production, with standout tracks like “Talking a Good Game,” “The Robot Cries” and “Sooner or Later,” showing the band still evolving creatively.
