The Project: Modern Ways
with support from Luca Mo, Joss Malcomson
Modern Ways are an Independent Band from Basingstoke, Hampshire. They formed at the beginning of 2018 with a passion for songwriting and collaborating. They began playing a few songs they had written at local Open Mic's, such as in Overton at the Greyhound, and now have started gigging in the Basingstoke and Reading area. After being booked by some big gig promoters in April and May Modern Ways have started to gain a following and a reputation among independent music lovers.
Modern Ways met at Queen Mary’s College, Basingstoke. They are all aged 18. Modern Ways spent most of their lunchtimes at college together jamming and coming up with new material. This has lead to a great chemistry among the band, evident on stage. Modern Ways have had a stage presence compared by some to early Talking Heads and have had their music assimilated with those of The Faces, Mott the Hoople and David Bowie.
Modern Ways are inspired by the greats of classic pop such as The Beatles, Bowie, 10cc, The Eagles and Pink Floyd and the 1990s Britpop legends Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Verve, Blur and Pulp.
Modern Ways aim to stand out from the Indie Landfill with totally new and exiting music.
