The Boileroom Music Venue & Arts Space, Guildford

Since 2006 The Boileroom has sat at the forefront of music and culture in the South East of England.

Winning awards for our dynamic and diverse programming and inclusive and progressive ethos.

We deliver an amazing programme of music, community events, comedy, art and private/corporate hires.

Now in 2022, we have launched a weekly Brunch service with Stoke Kitchen, a street food operator and facilitated a new record store opening on our site.

We are known for our music, great events, the community of creatives in the building, being a safe space, but we continually push ourselves to deliver more.

Our spaces are raw / authentic with handcrafted and bespoke décor, the building is old, but we pride ourselves on having really high standards of cleanliness and service in the space.

Responsibilities:

· Overseeing all daily operations of the bar in the venue and the team that help run them.

. Responsible for licensing, health and safety,

. Consistently achieve a minimum of GP on stock with a max wastage target

. Staff costs kept to under target

· Lead by example – Work Hard behind the bar or wherever needed and show the team what we’re all about but above all, make sure to utilise people to their best skills and have them work in the most efficient way.

· Recruit, Train and Nurture bar staff.

· Lead, manage and hold direct reports accountable for achieving agreed-upon commitments and ideally supporting them to exceed their goals.

· Cultivate and manage healthy relationships with the team and with strategic partners and vendors.

· Execute plans, achieving and ideally, exceeding established objectives.

· Collaborate and stay on the same page with Venue Manager & Founder at all times.

· Understand company goals and growth strategies, plans and work with the team to execute them.

· Effectively resolve issues – must be comfortable with conflict, addressing issues, and solving problems in a practical and healthy manner.

· Identify areas of opportunities for improvements across the organisation, including opportunities to improve revenue, increase margin, reduce cost, and increase profitability throughout the organisation all while improving efficiency.

· Consistently demonstrates a passion for values alignment, focus, simplicity, and clarity across the organisation.

·Overseeing deliveries and organising appropriate staff to help

Requirements:

· Proven results as a Bar Manager in a busy bar with a team leader role.

· On average over the year 40-45 hours per week ( More during busy periods and less in quieter months ie; Jan

. Driving license required

. SIA or Personal License or similar industry qualifications

· Experience building high performing teams, including the ability to recognise and cultivate rising talent.

· Willing to hold yourself and those in your team to a higher standard and not enable mediocrity.

· Adept at transitioning spaces – (Restaurant to Live music Venue) and adept at working long & late shifts.

· Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

PACKAGE:
– £22,000 / year
– £5200 potential bonus per year based on Sales KPI & Staff cost targets
