IWV – Artist Development DayJanuary 28, 2016

We are happy to announce that we will be launching a Stage 2; Artist Development Day, to our youth music programme ‘The Project’ as part of Independent Venue Week!

This will be a monthly event where more advanced young creators will be able to perform original songs and receive feedback from a panel of industry professionals.

It launches this Saturday from 11.30-3.30pm. This is a closed event but video footage and photos will be online next week so keep an eye open.

Meet the Panel:

Toni Coe

Primary: Music Venue Manager/Community Arts Coordinator/Youth Music Artist Development
Secondary: Events Management & Promotions/Festival Logistics and Artist Liason/Vocal Coach/Activist Practitioner.

Charlie Simmonds

Andy’s current role, leading on Education & Outreach for PRS for Music, allows him to bring all of these strands together with the objective of raising awareness and understanding around PRSfM – what it is, what it does, how and for whom – whilst at the same time sign posting some of the ways which aspiring music creators can generate an income whilst developing a career.

Joe Frankland

Joe Frankland is Senior Grants and Programmes Manager at PRS for Music Foundation, the UK’s leading funder of new music across all genres.

Through schemes such as The Open Fund, Momentum, the International Showcase Fund, Women Make Music and Flash Funding, PRS for Music Foundation supports the creation and performance of outstanding music across the UK.

Huge thanks to Silent Hill Studio’s in Guildford for coming on board as a partner and providing a backline for young creatives to develop their identity and hone their craft!
